Learn how Ag Drive's onsite training courses are making a difference to employers like Valachi Downs Stud in Matamata, who recently put staff through an onsite Ag Drive training course on LUV (Light Utility Vehicle) operation.
Located in Matamata, the stunning Valachi Downs Stud property is made up of more than 600 acres of hill country, rolling pastures and lush flat lands.
Owned by Kevin and Joanna Hickman, the stud is renowned for its premium thoroughbred breeding and racing, with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
As a responsible employer with a focus on health and safety and staff development, Valachi Downs Management decided to organise some staff training on correct operation of Light Utility Vehicles, which are frequently used on the stud farm.
Ag Drive tutors Les and Stephen ran a tailored version of the Ag Drive Light Utility Vehicle Operation course on site at Valachi Downs Stud.
The course was designed to suit the unique requirements of the Valachi Downs Stud team and allowed them to learn in their own environment on the terrain variations of the farm.
Sam Fursdon, Valachi Downs Stud Operations Manager, says the training was really valuable.
"It was excellent to have the opportunity to upskill the Valachi Downs Stud team on site in our own surroundings," says Sam.
"Employees of varied previous experience and abilities completed the course with a greater understanding of safe operation of LUV's and general agricultural workplace health and safety," he says.
