Course Overview:
The chainsaw is an essential piece of machinery for so many businesses and operating it safely and efficiently is vital. Upskilling and retraining staff is part of the requirements of the H&S at Work Act 2015.
Our Chainsaw Safe Operation course is ideal for intermediate and experienced chainsaw operators to establish their knowledge and understanding as well as learn new skills and safe operating techniques. This will include, up to date information on the health and safety legislation and its role in keeping people safe.
Course Outcomes:
Describe the rules for safe chainsaw use.
Describe all of the chainsaw's safety features and their use.
Describe the correct Personal Protective Equipment relating to chainsaws.
Disassemble, clean, and reassemble a chainsaw and complete basic servicing.
Demonstrate correct sharpening techniques.
Demonstrate both cold and warm start techniques and test the chainsaw safely.
Describe the “danger zone” and kick-back.
Demonstrate the up-cut and down-cut techniques safely.
Discuss the safety of mixing, storing, and transporting fuel.
On completion of the course, you will receive a competency certificate on what was covered throughout the duration of the course, you will also go home with refined knowledge and best practices on Chainsaw Operation.

Delivery: Online theory module & in-person practical training

Equipment required: Sensible clothing for all-weather training, covered shoes.
